Tina Steele, Ph.D.-ABD, M.A., CWC, Clinical Anthropologist and Certified Wellness Coach, is the founder and architect of My Health Navigator and all its programs.

|
Born in England, with dual UK/US nationality, Tina spent her formative decades in Europe, eventually moving permanently to the US in 1991. She studied, lived, and worked in NY for many years before moving south in 2001. With a long history of working among the HIV+ and AIDS communities, in counseling, research and prevention, she segued into the field of overall disease prevention and wellness. Using skills acquired through her undergraduate and graduate work, her partial training in medical school, then subsequently her exposure to the vast resources of the CDC disease prevention programs, Tina gained significant experience in the mechanisms driving the way humans respond to their own health, or lack thereof. It was this knowledge that enabled her to formulate the concept of My Health Navigator, and subsequently to make it a reality. A firm believer that we should always seek to broaden our knowledge and skills, Tina has become a Certified Wellness Coach* and regularly completes the same Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses that are required of physicians. She also volunteers in a clinic serving low-income seniors, and is a volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps of Sarasota County and sits on their board. *American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Wellness Coach Certification # 01485 |
